Aspire Earns Cisco IoT Authorization Designation
Eatontown, NJ – February 10, 2020 – Aspire Technology Partners announced it earned the Cisco IoT Authorization designation. This designation enables Aspire to deliver and implement simple, secure, and scalable end-to-end Cisco IoT solutions, based on architectures and open standards that integrate with third-party and legacy equipment, to customers. Aspire earned this designation after successfully completing training and exams in IoT disciplines.
The Internet of Things has emerged as a primary enabler of digital business transformation because it helps organizations create and monetize new business models and services; innovate easily and increase productivity; and improve user experiences and engagement through better insights.
Carter Yepsen leads the Aspire IoT practice. He has brought passion, ingenuity, shape, definition, and vision to the practice. His IoT acuity developed while he worked with Cisco on its emerging IoT profile and, afterwards, with Cimcon Lighting, a Cisco Solutions Plus Partner and an industry leader in lighting control, where he led Smart City and Connected Lighting sales involving Cisco network technology.
Brian Schillaci is an IoT practice lead. He has over nineteen years of IT Management Consulting and Project Management experience. At Cisco, he was an IoT Technical Solutions Architect. In this role, he designed, scoped, and recommend IoT solutions to customers throughout the east coast. His current IoT engagements cover Smart Cities, Connected Transportation, and Digital Buildings.
The Aspire IoT practice focuses on four areas of IoT: Smart Spaces; Smarter Cities; Safe and Secure Campuses; Connected Roadways. This focus enables organizations to attend to their communities of people and things and improve a variety of areas within their community—from engagement to public health to environment to infrastructure and sustainability—by using data from connected devices to make informed business decisions.
The Aspire IoT Demonstration Center
The Aspire IoT Demonstration Center opened in 2019 to provide product demonstrations and training. The IoT Demonstration Center showcases Cisco validated designs, including:
- Connected Community Infrastructure for Smart Cities, implemented on a light pole, which collects data so cities can be safer and operate more efficiently
- A decorative pole that showcases Meraki technology to deliver digital services
- A Public Utility pole that showcases low bandwidth networks that would help a public utility, or a water utility, deliver services to its customers
- A roadway pole that showcases connected cameras for license plate recognition and for tracking transportation analytics
- A roadside data center built on top of Cisco DNA
- A pipe system that showcases a network connected to the fire alarm, a network connected to a tampering meter, and a network connected to a water meter to the public network. The networks provide a variety of different functions.
